sportauto china, has become an official partner of Blancpain GT Series Asia ahead of this season’s final two championship events at Shanghai International Circuit and Zhejiang. Sportauto china has already covered each event of Blancpain GT Series Asia’s inaugural campaign but will step up its commitment over the final two meetings after becoming the championship’s Official Media Partner.
Its role includes producing additional print, multi-format digital, video and promotional content. Equally, its deep understanding of the local market will prove invaluable to distributing the championship’s live race stream across China’s myriad social media and online outlets, while sportauto china will also be involved in overseeing its output.
Indeed, with sportauto china’s assistance HY SPORTS will distribute a live stream to several popular online outlets with Chinese commentary. These include Douyu, Toutiao, Iqiyi, Beijing Time, Octopus TV, Quanmin TV, Zaker, Huajiao and Hi Sports.
The content sportauto china produces in-house will also be distributed across the country’s leading video platforms, Youku and Yiche.
The deal also includes sportauto china’s distinctive red and white logo being carried on the rear-wing endplates of the championship’s GT3 and GT4 supercars. Another bumper grid is expected in Shanghai after a season-high 34 entries made the trip to Fuji last time out.
Benjamin Franassovici, Championship Manager:
“Blancpain GT Series Asia’s success has been partly built on working hard to attract interest amongst local media, fans, teams and drivers. Nowhere is this more challenging than in China where the social media landscape, for example, is very different to the rest of the world. Opening up the region’s biggest market is of paramount importance to the championship, sponsors, manufacturers, drivers and teams, and for that we need a partner with the necessary experience, expert knowledge and reach to make a telling difference. Sportauto china fits this remit perfectly and will undoubtedly help broaden our scope for coverage and exposure over this year’s final two race weekends.”
David Hiebaum, sportauto china Managing Director:
“We feel privileged that Blancpain GT Series Asia has chosen sportauto china as the Official Media Partner for its first two race meetings in China. As a partner we will provide full coverage for both events in Shanghai and Zhejiang with magazine articles, digital stories, social media and video distribution within our online video network. Live streaming of all races will be distributed to more than 10 popular Chinese channels, such as Iqiyi, Douyu and Toutiao, to raise awareness of Blancpain GT Series Asia’s Chinese debut. Partnering with one of the best GT series in Asia fits perfectly within sportauto china’s strategy of promoting motorsport in China. We firmly believe in the direction that this new, professional GT series is taking and look forward to providing exciting content for our readership.”
Rounds nine and 10 of Blancpain GT Series Asia’s 2017 campaign take place at Shanghai next weekend (September 23/24) before Zhejiang hosts the season finale one month later on October 21/22.
